How to connect Printful to Etsy

Etsy brings the buyers; Printful prints and ships. Wire them together once and orders fulfill themselves. Here's every step — plus the two settings people get wrong.

Connecting the two takes about 20 minutes. You'll need an Etsy shop and a free Printful account. Let's go.

Step 1 — Open your Etsy shop

If you don't have one, create an Etsy seller account and finish onboarding (shop name, currency, payment, billing). Etsy charges a small listing fee per item and a transaction fee per sale — that's normal and separate from Printful.

Step 3 — Connect Printful to Etsy

  1. In Printful, open Stores → Choose platform → Etsy.
  2. Click Connect and authorize Printful in the Etsy permission screen.
  3. You're back in Printful with Etsy linked. That's the connection done.

Step 4 — Add a product and publish to Etsy

  1. Hit Add product, pick your item (start with one hero product), and upload your design.
  2. Set the retail price. Cover Printful's fulfillment price + Etsy's fees and still leave margin — don't price at cost.
  3. Write the Etsy title and description with words buyers search, then Submit to store. It appears as an Etsy listing.

Printful syncs shipping, but double-check your Etsy shipping profile so the rate matches Printful's actual shipping cost. Get this wrong and every sale quietly eats your margin.

Etsy fees + Printful fulfillment add up. Map your real cost per item first, then set retail with a deliberate margin on top.

Step 5 — Order a sample (don't skip)

Order one sample of your hero product before you promote anything. You need to see the print, color, and packaging exactly as your customer will. This one habit prevents most bad reviews.
